Teaching

Research Interests
Organic chemistry; chemistry and biology of antimicrobial compounds; chemistry and biological properties of modified nucleic acids.
A key aspect of my research is the development of molecular tools that assist microbiologists, biologists, and biochemists in studying resistance mechanisms and bacterial regulatory processes. Additionally, I work on developing inhibitors of nucleotide biosynthesis as potential antimicrobial agents. My primary research focuses on lipophosphonoxins—membrane-targeting compounds with potent antibacterial properties. We have successfully tested these compounds in nanofiber wound dressings for treating *Staphylococcus aureus* wound infections in a mouse model.
