For Students
The Laboratory of Carbohydrate and Glycomimetic Chemistry offers students the opportunity to become involved in modern research at the interface of organic chemistry, chemical biology, and medicinal chemistry. Students may participate in projects focused on the synthesis of biologically active carbohydrate derivatives and glycomimetics, the study of their interactions with biological targets, and the development of new molecules with potential therapeutic applications.
Students working in the laboratory gain experience with advanced methods of organic synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds. Their work also includes the use of modern analytical techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, chromatographic methods, and other biophysical or biochemical approaches in collaboration with partner institutions.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in international collaborations, for example through joint projects with the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences and other partner institutions.
