The Department of Chemistry of Natural Compounds is equipped with modern instrumentation enabling the synthesis, isolation, and detailed structural analysis of biologically active molecules. This technical infrastructure supports research in natural compounds chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology.
The department has facilities for organic synthesis, chromatographic separation, and structural characterization of compounds, including advanced spectroscopic and mass spectrometric methods. Important components of the instrumentation include NMR spectrometers, UHPLC/MS systems, chromatographic apparatus, and other analytical instruments used for the study of the structure and biological activity of natural compounds and their synthetic analogues.
These technologies enable detailed molecular characterization, investigation of interactions with biological targets, and the development of new biologically active compounds with potential applications in medicine, biotechnology, and analytical chemistry.
The instrumentation is used not only for research but also for the education of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, allowing them to become familiar with modern experimental methods already during their studies.
