Diagnostic and therapeutic nanosystems

Our scientific team is focused on the modification of the surface of nanoparticles with functional molecules for their further use as part of a biologically active self-storage systems or for the construction of biosensors.

Preparation of building blocks for liposomal therapeutic systems and recombinant vaccines

Specifically, we focus on the preparation of substances that, after being incorporated into liposomes, will enable their subsequent modification with biologically active molecules. These are recombinant proteins, substances that increase the immune response (adjuvant), fluorophores, or ligands enabling the targeting of liposomal formulations to a specific place in the body tissue.

We also deal with the preparation of adjuvants themselves, carbohydrate or peptide ligands and their subsequent use. This combination of the entire portfolio of synthesized substances enables us to significantly participate in research leading to the preparation of new recombinant vaccines, therapeutics and theranostics in cooperation with other research facilities.

Ultrasensitive diagnostic biosensors

Another topic of research is the development of systems capable of decoding the specific binding interaction of biomolecules and converting this information into a physically measurable quantity. These biosensors are especially suitable as a tool for early identification of tumor-specific molecules and cells in body fluids, pollutants found in drinking or waste water and other substances depending on their surface modification.

Achieving our goals requires the preparation of proposals for new chemical structures, their synthesis and complete structural analysis. Our group is firmly connected with the non-academic sphere with the aim of commercial and practical application of the achieved scientific results.
